FTC Safeguards Rule is Changing, Are YOU?
SOUTH CAROLINA-BASED CPA FIRMS: Are you ready for Federal enforcement of the FTC mandated information security program, beginning June 9th?
April 27th, 2023
Is my CPA Firm actually impacted by the new FTC regulations?
Yes. According to the
Code of Federal Regulations, Title 16, Chapter I, Subchapter C, Part 314 § 314.4, the FTC requirements apply to your CPA Firm. You must comply by June 9th, 2023.
Can't this wait until later?
Unfortunately, no. Enforcement of the FTC information security mandate begins on June 9th, 2023. All CPA Firms will be subject to regulations, penalties, and fines as of this date.
You must start now, because implementation takes a long time.
Is the expanded FTC Safeguards Rule complicated?
Yes. The Safeguards Rule and its Information Security Mandate references numerous laws, including the Bank Holding Act, GLBA, Federal Reserve Board regulations and more.
This training will help your CPA Firm understand how to comply.
